Garage22 came from the simple idea of trying to make gin the way we would like to drink it ourselves.
The garage has gradually become the first urban distillery in Praguewhere gin is produced in small batches, by hand and without compromise. From the first tonic syrup to our own distillate, we do everything Respectfully to craft and raw materials.
The story of garage22
Ondra and Martin met through a common classmate - Ondra from a hotel in Mariánské Lázně, Martin from a university hotel school.
They were united by work in the Al Dente restaurant in Prague and a love of good drinking. In 2018, an idea was born in one garage with the number 22, which became a reality two years later.
In the beginning, it was not gin, but tonic syrup. A half-liter bottle of concentrated syrup, from which fifty servings of tonic could be prepared. But gradually came the idea to move on. Following the example of European cities, we decided to process all permits and establish a municipal craft distillery in Prague.
In 2020, we received official permission to distill and thus began the writing of a new chapter of Czech gin. Gin and tonic lovers became a distiller and a merchant, two people who decided to do things their own way.

The Craft
Each bottle is created by hand. No shortcuts, just honest work and a taste to do the best we can.
Local ingredients
We mainly use what is growing around us. Herbs, fruits, spices. When it makes sense, we add something from afar as well.
The Courage to Try
Habanero, mango or coconut? Why not. We experiment and look for new combinations that give the gin personality.
Honesty in taste
No tricks or artificial fragrances. Just a pure distillate that tastes exactly the way it's supposed to.
From the first gin to the present
The beginnings were not easy. Before we were satisfied, we had mishandled over 700 litres of alcohol. But it was worth it, that's how our first Gin22, the flagship Garage22, came into being.
We launched him in August 2020 and the very first year he won a bronze medal at the IWSC competition in London. It was proof that we were going in the right direction. Since then, we have won numerous awards at home and abroad.
Today we are among the best rated distilleries in the Czech Republic and abroad. We plan to expand production, improve the visitor portion of the distillery and continue to explore how far the taste of gin can be shifted. But the basis remains the same - to do things honestly, by hand and with respect for what we like.
